The Golden Globes

I'm not gonna talk about all of the awards because it would be silly, but here are some of my opinions-

Best film (drama)

Atonement

Also nominated:
American Gangster
Eastern Promises
The Great Debaters
Michael Clayton
No Country for Old Men
There Will Be Blood

Eh, fair enough. Atonement was very good but suffered from a rather boring middle. My sister lost the plot and whispered "What's going on?" I've seen it twice and for good reason- the beginning was brilliantly constructed, but when it suddenly skips four years, the feeling of disorientation lasts for a lot longer than it should. The final scene was clever, and that's why I like it. A nice sad ending always makes me feel good. :D Well, I'm lying, when I first saw it the audience was in tears. And I was depressed.

Best supporting actress

Cate Blanchett - I'm Not There

Also nominated:
Julia Roberts - Charlie Wilson's War
Saoirse Ronan - Atonement
Amy Ryan - Gone Baby Gone
Tilda Swinton - Michael Clayton

Well deserved. She was a really good man. Apparently she put a sock down there? Saoirise Ronan who played the youngest Briony in Atonement was also very good as well. But Cate stole the show in I'm Not There, the Bob Dylan Biopic.

Best series (musical or comedy)

Extras

Also nominated:
30 Rock
Californication
Entourage
Pushing Daisies

I disagree with this. The second series (that I presume they're judging) sort of... sucked ass. There was a lot of filler and I only carried on watching it hoping it would be good again but... no dice. 30 Rock should have won- funniest show ever. We all know it's true!

Best actress (musical or comedy)

Tina Fey - 30 Rock

Also nominated:
Christina Applegate - Samantha Who?
America Ferrera - Ugly Betty
Anna Friel - Pushing Daisies
Mary-Louise Parker - Weeds

Tina Fey TOTALLY deserved this award. She's totally the funniest thing ever. And America Ferrera was good as well.

I'm just wondering why Lost wasn't nominated? Totally best show ever. Maybe it would win so much they didn't want to upset the balance?

I rather enjoyed Atonement and I'm fairly happy that it won. I haven't seen most of the other films though, so I'm not completely sure. And I do not understand why Extras won. The Xmas special was good, but that was it. The rest of the second series, like you said, was shit. And I'm glad 30 Rock got the 'globe'! Tina Fey deserves it. And her own for best actress as well.

As for Lost, they've been ignoring the show the past two series. I think they changed it because they didn't want the most popular shows winning anymore, just because so many people watch them; they wanted the most artistic or whatever. That's some shit they pulled out of their asses though, because Lost is one of the best series on tv and I agree that it would blow everyone out 'o the water.
